"Create Compelling Light"
If you have been frustrated getting the light to "read" in your paintings, then this is the workshop for you. The good news is that it's a totally learnable skill set that involves training your eye to see the colors and values accurately, and then arrive at the paint mixtures you intend with a high degree of accuracy.
Day one we will have an hour or so of direct instruction, followed by an exercise, then straight into painting a landscape together. No need to bring photo references, as I will provide them.
At the end of the workshop you should have a clear understanding of how to create the effects of sunlight, atmosphere and mood in your landscape paintings.
All demos will be in oils, so bring oils if you have them; acrylicists are welcome as well, but if you paint in both, oils would be best to bring as the mixtures do not darken as they dry.
